Dear Reader,
What surreal times we find ourselves in! But haven’t stories always kept us together even as we are asked to stay apart? How do we stay socially connected while we are being asked to be socially distant?
Stories, I say! Stories. I don’t think any of us have the answers to what is next, but let’s talk about what we can do now. Let’s gather in the only way we can – on our laptops and phones and screens. Let’s connect as virtually as possible. My reading friends, it’s not just my tour that was canceled, but also events for hundreds of other authors. Not only do we as authors take a hit but also our beloved bookstores, the ones who had organized, ordered books and were hosting us. PLEASE, even though the authors aren’t there, please order the books and support those stores. It is about so much more than just books sold; it is about community and about our local businesses.
And my local E. Shavers has signed copies to mail. I know it’s not as great as us doing it in person with a selfie and some chat, but it’s better than nothing.
With the EXPANDED edition paperback of BECOMING MRS. LEWIS out on Tuesday (March 24th) I have a number of VIRTUAL BOOK TOUR events and we can gather as best we know-how. Here is the schedule so far and more coming. Please join us. We can try not to feel so alone while also trying to connect.

“How do we live our lives at home that we once lived out in the world?”
As I try to find my own ways to cope with this new social isolation, I rounded up a group of author friends who are also experts in other things.
My question to each of them in their area of expertise is: “How do we live our lives at home that we once lived out in the world?"
Starting Monday, March 23rd, with experts in cooking, mental health, centering, decorating, book clubs, and so much more, I will bring you an author a day. Every day during the publishing week of the paperback for Becoming Mrs. Lewis I will be introducing you to another author with advice and encouragement for all of us. If I can’t be out there with you, I will do what I can from here.
You’ll meet Kristy Woodson Harvey, Elizabeth Byler Younts, Elana Horwich, Rachel McMillan, Modern Mrs. Darcy, and a few others, all with expert advice in different areas!
Stay safe and healthy.
With Love,
—Patti
