Five Things To Know About…

November 2022 | Newsletter

Hello Friends!

I am so happy to be in your inbox and we have much to talk about. I want to talk about the five things to know about what I love, about what is inside The Secret Book of Flora Lea, about what I am doing these days, and about Friends and Fiction.

I am so grateful for all of you and I’d love to hear what you are loving these days!

Love, always

PCH

…About what I love these days

~Nature hikes. They are keeping me sane and reminding me of one of my favorite quotes by John O’Donohue, “The patience of nature enjoys the ease of trust and hope.”

~The book, Bomb Shelter by Mary Laura Philpot reminds me that we are always living in uncertainty and that is okay, in fact more than okay – we can thrive!

~The podcast. Bethane Patrick’s podcast called Missing Pages, where she uncovers the power struggles, mistaken identities, and unfathomably bad behavior within the secretive world of book publishing. With Ron Block, I had the pleasure of interviewing her for our Writers Block Friends and Fiction podcast – what a great conversation.

~The novel, Dawnlands by Phillipa Gregory. Hoo boy, I loved falling into the intrigue and beauty of the late 1600’s England with this phenomenal author.

~The music of Jason Isbell – lately I can’t seem to get enough of his voice and lyrics, right alongside Chris Stapleton. LINK to Jason’s music. With lyrics like, “Just find what makes you happy girl/and do it til you’re gone.” What’s not to love?
