Join us in the courtroom made famous by To Kill a Mockingbird for captivating readings, enlightening discussions, amusing conversations and Monroeville’s famous brand of hospitality. We’re welcoming friends, old and new, to discover new authors, celebrate favorite writers and share great times with others who love Southern literature. U.S. poet-laureate Joy Harjo is this year’s Harper Lee Award recipient, and Michael Martone receives the Truman Capote Prize. This year’s food writer is award-winning chef Scott Peacock, and we end with two dynamic women from the podcast Friends & Fiction.

Please note: Readings, workshops and discussions are free, but registration is required using Eventbrite. Although most events are free, all ticketed events must be reserved and paid in advance no later than Monday, Feb. 27, 2023. Your name tag will be your admission to the courtroom.

An Elegant Southern Supper at the Shop (near the southwest corner of the square)

($40, advance purchase required)

We may be a small town, but we don't do small parties! Enjoy a relaxed time with our visiting authors and other festivalgoers and sample an elegant spread of Southern foods, wine and music. Tickets includes food, wine, beer, tea and soft drinks.

Saturday, March 4th

Lunch with Scott Peacock at The Shop at 66 - noon until 1:30

($30, advance purchase required)

Noon, following presentation by James Beard award-winning Southern chef and food writer Scott Peacock. A bountiful Southern meal based on Scott’s recipes. The Shop at 66 is located at 66 S. Mt. Pleasant Avenue Monroeville, AL 36460.

($65, advance purchase required)

The ticket includes admission to all reading and discussions in the courtroom as well as An Elegant Southern Supper on Friday and Lunch with Scott Peacock on Saturday.
